White Star Bar - Jersey City

Another warm and sunny day? Yep! had to fully take advantage of the weather and take the bikes for a spin to grab dinner! I've been in Jersey City a while now but sadly enough I don't go out to eat much ( yes I know jersey city has tons of great restaurants to choose from ). I rode west and eventually made my way to White Star Bar - 230 Brunswick St Jersey City NJ 07302. This little pub is situated on the corner of 9th Street and Brunswick Ave adjacent to a nice park area; on a nice day it's all the more reason to sit outside ( even though we didn't ).  The interior is very cozy and hip with only a handful of seats that faced the windows outwards towards the park. Immediately I saw that there was french onion soup and oven baked mac & cheese which I just had to try. We also got a White Star burger as sort of a tester to see what the fuss was all about with their burgers ( which is highly recommended from their Yelp page). Without reading any reviews I was prepared to evaluate their food with zero expectations.

Now for  the pictures:

the storefront has a very "west village" vibe about it, maybe it's that copper gooseneck down light

We'll definitely be returning to White Star Bar. Their menu has a lot of variety and I can already tell a lot of their traditional dishes ie. burgers / mac & cheese have a subtle kick to them that puts them above the rest. If you're ever in the area you should definitely stop in for a snack.
