It's one of the first warm days of 2016 and I decided to spend my friday wandering around NYC. I dusted off my sony a7 and headed out!
First stop was opening day for the general public at the New York International Auto Show. Mazda stole the show with the new miata rf but I'm also very biased. It was the first time seeing a lot of new cars including the Alfa Romeo Giulia and the Acura NSX. In general the auto show was decent like the past previous shows with just a handful of cars that were indeed "show" worthy but the rest was somewhat of a blur especially the dimly lit basement displays which were quite depressing and uninspiring. Not a bad show to hangout to look at things but not ideal for someone who had the mindset to shop for a new car.
As the rain subsided and the sun finally came out I wandered back into the center of manhattan towards broadway then again down south towards union square. The sun felt amazingly warm and the light was just right. The zeiss 35mm sonnar I had on my A7 was crisp and really began to shine. I'm always very surprised when I discover the massive resolution the raw files can produce. Even for a base model A7 the sensor is definitely hard at work. Now on to the pictures:
Ended the day with a huge chocolate donut from "Dough", personally I didn't eat one but taking the photo itself almost put me in a state of deep food coma.
